Idea: Chocolate Chip Cookie Cupcake

I don’t mean a cupcake with chocolate chips, or with a chocolate chip cookie on top. I mean take some cookie dough, toss it in a cupcake tray, and bake it.

My only thought is that cookies are really dense and cakes are not. It might be worth meeting a cupcake recipe halfway, but still make it distinctively cookie. Which means prolly adding an extra egg and a little bit of milk to soften up the cookie dough, maybe add an extra teaspoon of baking powder for extra leavening.

Here’s the recipe I have in mind (completely untested):
2 sticks butter
300g brown sugar
3 eggs
100g whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
250g bread flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp kosher salt
half a bag of Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips

Mix like you would mix cookie dough. Bake like you would bake cupcakes.

Has anyone tried anything like this? Any advice?

Cookies like this depth?

I just made a test batch of these bad boys in a mini muffin pan. I came up with 14 minutes total baking time which is double the baking time I use for my cutout sugar cookies. Scoop dough then roll in sugar.
The dough needs to be on the dry, not sticky side.

Chocolate chip would work the same way. I would go with the mini ghiradelli chocolate chips ( I think it’s a white bag). I used those to make cut out chocolate chip cookies last prime.
