Hullo,
I’m new to here, I’ve just joined and applied for the PAX Melbourne team, and like Joyce thought I’d take the time to introduce myself.
I’m Claude, I go by cornwonkies or claudeesi online.
My mum taught me to bake as her Oma and Tante taught her, so I came to cookies as a baking area a little later since the Germans only bake biscuits at Christmas time. I’m making up for it though! I love baking cakes, my favourite is baked cheese cake or a streussel apple or plum cake. I’m not very skilled at fondant or royal icing decorations, so I try to put the detailing in earlier like with cutouts or jammy sammich cookies, or patterns like with speculaas. German/Jewish/European baking is my comfort zone, I get freaked out when I see recipes with sticks of butter as an ingredient since neither Germany nor Australia labels butter like that. Thankfully the internet is full of conversion help <3
I hope to be a long time, helpful member of the Melbourne team as the needs of children and baking are two of my greatest passions. I am a woman of many passions though, too many to list here. I have all the usual geek habits though-collecting, gaming, reading etc, and I live with my beloved cat Frenzal, named for my most beloved Australian punk band Frenzal Rhomb.
I’m pleased to be here, I hope you all have a wonderful day full of delicious baked goodness <3

Like you I loooooove baking (especially for other people) and I’m so excited to see what you bring along. We’ve got some really useful baking threads on what’s worked previously (sturdiness is a pretty important quality) here and there.

Hello! Name’s Heather but I’m on any forum as HarmonyIsarine. I’ve been meaning to join up for years and years but finally got up the courage to join.
I submitted an application a week ago but I haven’t heard back. It said to post in the general forums about it, but I can’t find which thread. I really want to be able to at least donate baked treats (well, semi-baked, marshmallows are one my specialties), if not also help distribute at East if it’s not too late and some minor mobility issues wouldn’t get in the way.
Just wanted to let everyone know that the Cookie Brigade’s always been one of my favorite parts of PAX, everyone who’s helped is amazing.
Hi All!
My name is Brittany but my gamertag/twitter/forum/anything is brtyleigh. I’ve been attending PAX East for 5 years and my favorite part of any PAX is sitting in the tabletop area, after the expo floor has closed, playing whatever games we bought that day, and waiting for the Cookie Brigade to come through.
I’ve just submitted my application to join you all in volunteering and hope to make traditional chocolate chip, nutella stuffed, and peanut butter cookies!
Welcome Denny, Harmony, and Brtyleigh!
Hi, my name is Heather, I’ve been baking since 2008 and attending pax prime since 2007. I will be baking this year again with a crew since my spinal injury limits my physical activities a lot. This will be the first year I won’t be making it to pax prime due to being poor and still fighting disability so I can be a little more comfy. My friends are great through with donating all the supplies. I will need to find someone hopefully coming through the area (Spokane, WA) to Seattle to take the cookies. Most my crew that I usually attend with fly in and I can’t afford shipping, sorry. If this is possible I, I would really like to continue the brigading line.
I know that Punzie has let me know if any tickets come available I might be able to get one but right now I’m just hoping for someone either coming from my area or going through it so the goods can be delivered! I’ve had such an amazing time helping out and being apart of this group, thank you.
Hi Heather,
I know we’ve met before. I’m sorry you’re struggling and I know that you want to help. I responded in chat with some options, feel free to ask in the Pax specific groups. It looks like it may not work out this year, and that’s okay. We’ll look forward to seeing you when you’ve got real life sorted. There are lots of times when we all need to take a break to take care of ourselves or life and that’s okay.
Thank you, I will make sure no matter what the treats make it your way. This is too good of a program of me not to. And if I don’t make it, that’s life right now and if I do, at least I will I have better options to cover myself. Thank you again.
Hey all,
I’m Tim, from down in Melbourne.
I’m currently looking through what I can do to help with Cookie Bridgade at PAX AUS this year - though I’m usually one to do awesome cupcakes and slices, I’m looking in to what cookie options I can contribute.
Unfortunately I won’t really be in a position to be able to distribute at AUS this year, but I’ll still be able to help bake. I’m reading through whatever I can find to see what’s needed so I can help out, but if anyone feels like pointing me in the right direction, that’d be appreciated.
Welcome Tim! We’re always desperate for bakers, so glad to have you on board! This year in particular we are looking a little light on bakers. Please (if you haven’t done so already) be sure to click the link to Join the Brigade - this will grant you access to the PAX Aus specific threads. We’ve got slack too, so you can always ask questions there. Bake whatever you like - just try to stick to things that won’t fall apart easily and can handle sitting in plastic bags for a weekend Chocolate chip cookies are always the favorite!
Hi! I’m Claire (kinda obvious XD). I’m a Melbournian who loves PAX and loves baking! I’ve just put in my application, and I look forward to baking for a good cause :3

Hi I’m Blythe I’m from the seattle area and I helped with cookies last year (baking and selling) and it was such a fun experience Im excited to help again! I’m especially good at being loud and getting peoples attention ;D
Hey all!
I helped out with PAX South last year in cookie distribution, I’d love to help this year full time. (this is Kyle, Bryce’s friend lolz) Who was at PAX South last year?
Hi everyone - my name is Stef. I stumbled on the Brigade while doing research for PAX East, and I absolutely love the idea. My grandfather was a culinary professor, and he inspired a love of baking (and cooking) in my brother and I. We plan on applying for both distributors and bakers.
It’s great to find a forum for people interested in both games and baking I’m looking forward to meeting the community.
Also - a bit off topic, but my brother and I are also into cosplay - we would love to distribute cookies in costume ;D
Hi everyone. My name is Daniel Sample, but I go by Spaz or Sample. For the past three years of Pax south, I have stopped in the cookie brigade room and asked if they needed any help. Then just donate and keep moving. This year I stopped in and asked, and was placed to work. It made this years pax extra special. I was sticking labels on cookies, sniffing bags to figure out what fudge was what fudge, and running around distributing cookies. It was an awesome time and would like to do it again for pax 2020. My wife, Katie, was talking about making vegan cookies for 2020 as well.
Hi Cookie folks! I had put in a volunteer application for PAX east a week ago and was hoping to hear something back!

I believe this has been taken care of. Lmk if there are still issues.
Hello all!
My name is Johnny and I’m a first time cookie brigadier (hope to be one!). I’ve attended PAX East since 2011 and I have managed to work at several booths before, namely Dell and Alienware. I hope to get to know you all!
Hi! I’m going to PAX East and live in the greater Boston area. Should anyone here be a baker north of Boston not going to the event but still baking let me know and I’ll see what can be done for me to get your goodies to bring in with me Thursday morning.
Hi Kaywray,
Due to some glitches working with the convention center we are not accepting baked goods this year. We’d love to have your help distributing the cookies that we have purchased. Keep an eye out as we’ll be posting the requirements for baking next year which will definitely include a drop off no later than Tuesday night.
Also, we’d love it if you could head to the application section and fill one out so that we can get you all set up in our system.
Thanks!
Kintyre
