Introduce Yourself

Heya!

I’m Allie, and this is my… 8th? PAX (West/Prime/Whatever, the OG PAX :)) – and I’d rather use my downtime for good rather than evil (evil in this case being buying things I don’t need, ha ha). I usually tell people they can recognize me by my mermaid blue hair but, this being PAX, that’s not really enough to make me stand out  I’m super excited that I finally got off my butt and applied to be a Brigadier this year – I’m looking forward to the cookie hustle!

Hello! I’ve been going to PAX West since 2009, but actually only saw the Cookie Brigade in person last year (it’s my fault; I’m not much of a wanderer once I find a place to settle at PAX). Aside from baking I also write, and run (but let’s be real for a second here: the latter is just so I can eat more cookies). Punzie asked if I was interested in joining CB over on the PA forums which kind of spurred me to just go for it (I haven’t poisoned anyone yet! …that I know of). I’ve actually been wanting to join you guys for years but I’m always afraid I’m going to accidentally poison someone/kill someone with allergies. (If you couldn’t tell from that last sentence, I can also be neurotic!)

I’m a big baker and love trying new recipes; I actually just remembered to come here and introduce myself because I was pulling these out of the oven. I also like making cakes and once in a great while, I try my hand at pies (with varying degrees of success).

If I’m not baking I’m playing games (Resident Evil, Legend of Zelda, Silent Hill until it died and went to video game heaven, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros. and Monster Hunter) or doing crafty projects (right now I’m driving myself slowly insane making custom Mickey ears). I also hang out on Twitch, because if I’m not playing a game I’m probably watching someone else play a game (or just watching the Food channel. That channel is great!)

(I’m also on the PA forums as RiDE, so if you hail from that neck of the interwebs you might recognize me.)

Welcome Ride!

Welcome Allie, and Welcome RiDE!

Oh hey guys!

My name is Liberty, but please call me “Bones” (thanks in advance). I love games. I love cookies. I love the Cookie Brigade! And I love all of you. <3

The end! ;D

Nah, last year was my first PAX and going to my second this fall. Would love to get involved and just generally get to know more PAXers as I don’t have very many PAXer friends.

Oi! I’ve just joined so hello all you lovely people. I’ve been going to PAX since the beginning, been an Enforcer, watched the cookie brigade begin and this year am an Omeganaut and also hope to join the bakers brigade to make some lazzzzzzzer cookies!

Hey all,

I’m Laurel (haiiro on the internet), and unplugged is going to be my first PAX! I love baking and thought this would be a great way to give back, so here I am. Other than that, I love reading and gaming, and do a bit of art on the side.
(I’d be open to doing some art/pixels for the brigade if it be of interest too!)

It’s good to meet everyone, I look forward to baking with you! 8)

Hey, I’m Karen! I live near Boston and have been attending PAX East for years. I went to the inaugural South, and I’m super excited for Unplugged!

I’ve been enjoying the efforts of the cookie brigade for a long time, but because of my gluten allergy my options are limited. I also have a friend with a diary allergy so he needs to be careful as well. Since I love baking, it only made sense to bake some stuff for the cookie brigade.

Welcome katespace, haiironiji, LittleCLUUs, and DieHydrojenOxHide!

Down from the deep, 15 stories tall, sleeping like an elder god, I have returned to PAX, and this time. ITS PERSONAL.

No for real. I’m not media anymore, It’s just your boy Zero back from the dead, I’ve been gone for 7 years and I’ve learned to make some mean Scottish Shortbread cookies and I have the nerdy cookie cutters to go with it. Super Hype to help out the brigade. Y’all were literally one of the first groups I looked for at PAX Unplugged.

Great to have you! I love shortbread. We’re not hitting East this year but maybe I can bribe someone to bring it back to me.

Hello all, I’m Nadine. Went to my first PAX (east) last year after moving back to the U.S. and hearing about it from friends for years. Saw the Cookie Brigade going around and asked my friends what it was. Even though they are PAX veterans they said ‘just random people handing out cookies, I guess’. I thought it was cosplay for a game I’d never heard of tbh. Cut to: I saw a post on the PAX Forums and it makes sense now and it’s all things fabulous!

Welcome aboard Nadine!

Hello! My name is Jessica and Pax South is going to be my very first Pax event so I’m excited.

I found out about the Cookie Brigade when I was trying to track down more info on what happens/goes on at Pax and volunteer opportunities.

Hi all! Just yesterday I submitted my application to volunteer at PAX South. Since I am just waiting now to hear back, I thought I could introduce myself. This will be the fourth Pax South that I’ve attended with my husband and daughter.

I enjoy baking cookies but don’t get to do it too often since the other members of my family are either health conscious or just not very interested in sweets. I also deliver meals for Meals on Wheels here in Austin. I really like volunteering with Meals on Wheels, but did you know that they never provide dessert? It’s true! (Unless you count fresh fruit as a dessert. (But I don’t.))

Welcome Joyce! I also do not count fruit as dessert!!

Hullo,
I’m new to here, I’ve just joined and applied for the PAX Melbourne team, and like Joyce thought I’d take the time to introduce myself.
I’m Claude, I go by cornwonkies or claudeesi online.
My mum taught me to bake as her Oma and Tante taught her, so I came to cookies as a baking area a little later since the Germans only bake biscuits at Christmas time. I’m making up for it though! I love baking cakes, my favourite is baked cheese cake or a streussel apple or plum cake. I’m not very skilled at fondant or royal icing decorations, so I try to put the detailing in earlier like with cutouts or jammy sammich cookies, or patterns like with speculaas. German/Jewish/European baking is my comfort zone, I get freaked out when I see recipes with sticks of butter as an ingredient since neither Germany nor Australia labels butter like that. Thankfully the internet is full of conversion help <3
I hope to be a long time, helpful member of the Melbourne team as the needs of children and baking are two of my greatest passions. I am a woman of many passions though, too many to list here. I have all the usual geek habits though-collecting, gaming, reading etc, and I live with my beloved cat Frenzal, named for my most beloved Australian punk band Frenzal Rhomb.
I’m pleased to be here, I hope you all have a wonderful day full of delicious baked goodness <3

Like you I loooooove baking (especially for other people) and I’m so excited to see what you bring along. We’ve got some really useful baking threads on what’s worked previously (sturdiness is a pretty important quality) here and there.

Hello! Name’s Heather but I’m on any forum as HarmonyIsarine. I’ve been meaning to join up for years and years but finally got up the courage to join.

I submitted an application a week ago but I haven’t heard back. It said to post in the general forums about it, but I can’t find which thread. I really want to be able to at least donate baked treats (well, semi-baked, marshmallows are one my specialties), if not also help distribute at East if it’s not too late and some minor mobility issues wouldn’t get in the way.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Cookie Brigade’s always been one of my favorite parts of PAX, everyone who’s helped is amazing.

Hi All!

My name is Brittany but my gamertag/twitter/forum/anything is brtyleigh. I’ve been attending PAX East for 5 years and my favorite part of any PAX is sitting in the tabletop area, after the expo floor has closed, playing whatever games we bought that day, and waiting for the Cookie Brigade to come through.

I’ve just submitted my application to join you all in volunteering and hope to make traditional chocolate chip, nutella stuffed, and peanut butter cookies!
